Here is a li' throwback stroy for you. This year we celebrate 20 years since opening our first yoga studio in Schellingstr., Munich, Germany which was the first Jivamukti Yoga school outside of New York City.

We opened the doors in November 2002 and had the grand opening party in February 2003, here you can see some photos and press articles. Imagine, there was no Instagram or Facebook back then, no high rez digi camera either hence the photos not so fancy, and you had your eyes closed sometimes too🤷🏼 😃

Looking back, I had no idea where this would all lead when we started 2 decades ago. I just remember our incredible enthusiasm. And the feeling that it was the right thing to do, regardless of how crazy and difficult it seemed at the time to make something like this happen.

We had no money and no investors, nor did we have a well thought-out business plan. We didn't know anything about manifesting, vision boards or mind mapping. To read the story how it  all began click here. Patrick, my partner at the time, wanted to back out 5 minutes before the appointment with the landlord and not sign the lease because he was convinced that something like this could not be successful in Munich 🙈

It makes me incredibly happy and also humble to see how yoga has spread and developed since then. And how all of us from that  Satsang have all grown as individuals. Through yoga practice, through our hard work, through faith in yoga, through our teachers and various guardian angels, through our satsang albeit often dysfunctional, and through the challenges life has thrown at us. But most of all, through God's grace. ✨💖

To be honest, in the beginning I had no idea what I was doing, but yoga and God did. From 3 students in class and struggle to pay rent, to multiple yoga studios, countless conferences, retreats, trainings, press articles and galas, many breakdowns and many breakthroughs. I appreciate every moment and take none of it for granted.

Today, almost everyone you know practices yoga and it feels like every other person is a yoga teacher. Yoga is absolutely mainstream now. In November 2002, that was very far away from reality.

So if you still don't know how to do what you feel called to do, here's my advice: Just do it. Just start. The way shows itself when you start walking it. One step toward God and s/he comes running toward you if you are sincere and willing to do inner work. Dharma works my friends! 🌟💫
