Do you worry a lot? At some point in life, we’ve all felt the weight of this paralyzing force—for some, it’s a short struggle, for others, it’s a constant reality.
Worry is awareness going into the future, creating a problem in our mind that has not happened (and most likely never will), then returning to the present and becoming distressed about it. No amount of anxiety will change anything about the outcome of a situation.
Like fear, worry is a relentless mental affliction that has persisted throughout history. It steals inner peace, drains energy, and takes up residence in the mind uninvited. It keeps you from sleeping and enjoying the moment. Yet, there is a remedy to shift this state: it is to know and master your mind— through practice (abhyāsa) and non-attachment (vairāgya) we can find our inner stillness.
Imagine a life where worry no longer controls you! I don't mean a life free of challenges, but one where you recognize what sparks worry and, more importantly, know how to halt it before it takes over control.
Patanjali, the great yoga sage, says it’s possible, and it’s not as difficult as we believe it to be. We just need to begin the journey.
Let’s go on an exploration—join me this Saturday for an open class and Sunday for a workshop on Yama and Niyama in Patanjali’s Yogasutra at Jivamukti Munich.
Let’s practice with a focus on grounding and trust. Regular online classes begin February 11th, with grounding and trust as this month’s theme. The Better Sleep Challenge begins on February 16th.
Let’s worry less, live more.
In the trenches with you, with so much love,
Gabriela
